Art & Collectibles

Acquired for the collection, not for the auction room's applause.

Art and collectibles sourced, authenticated and advised, with provenance treated as seriously as price.

The principle

Quiet work, properly held.

A collection is built with patience and lost with haste. The pieces that matter are rarely the ones on offer, and the ones on offer are not always what they are described to be. Beckon advises on acquisition the way a family office advises on capital: with provenance, condition and price treated as separate questions, each answered honestly.

We are not a dealer with inventory to move. That distinction is the whole point. Our counsel is independent of the sale, so the advice to walk away is as available as the advice to buy, and provenance is checked because it matters rather than because it closes.

The work spans fine art, but also the collectible categories our members already hold: important watches, jewellery, rare objects. Sourcing the piece is half of it. Authentication, condition, the quiet private sale that never touches an auction record, storage, insurance and the eventual place of the collection in an estate are the other half.

What we arrange

Considered from the first call.

01

Sourcing, including off the market

The right piece found, often before it is publicly offered, through relationships with galleries, private collections and specialists across categories.

02

Authentication and provenance

Independent authentication, condition assessment and a provenance trail examined properly, because a work is only worth what its history can withstand.

03

Private acquisition and sale

Discreet purchase and sale away from the auction room where privacy or price warrants it, with negotiation conducted on your behalf and your identity protected.

04

Collection care

Cataloguing, valuation, storage, transport and insurance arranged to museum standard, so the collection is held as carefully as it was assembled.

05

Legacy and succession

The collection's place in an estate, whether it is to be held, gifted, lent or sold, considered with your advisers rather than left as a question for the next generation.

The Beckon standard

Nothing left to chance.

  • Independent of any sale, so walking away is always on the table
  • Provenance examined because it matters, not because it closes
  • Identity and interest protected in every private negotiation
  • Storage, transport and insurance to museum standard
  • Valuations and holdings never disclosed outside your instruction

Questions, answered once

Art & Collectibles, without the theatre.

Do you sell art from your own inventory?

No, and that is deliberate. We hold no stock, so our advice carries no incentive to close a particular sale. We are paid by your membership, which is what lets us tell you a piece is wrong as readily as we tell you it is right.

Can you acquire privately, away from auction?

Yes. Where privacy or price warrants it, we negotiate private acquisitions and sales that never touch a public auction record, with your identity protected throughout.

Do you handle authentication and provenance?

Always, before a serious acquisition. Independent authentication, condition assessment and a properly examined provenance trail, because a work is only worth what its history can withstand.

How does a request reach Beckon?

By call, message or WhatsApp to your concierge. There is no form, no ticket number and no queue. One line is enough to begin.

What does membership cost?

Membership is offered by application and invitation, and the fee is confirmed once we understand what you need. The room is kept deliberately small each year, and not every application is accepted. Beckon Black is by invitation only. Service costs are always billed separately at actuals, with no commissions and no markups.

Are service costs marked up?

No. Vendor and supplier invoices are passed to you exactly as received. Beckon is paid by your membership, which is why our recommendation is never for sale.

What are the service hours?

Beckon members have a named relationship manager, concierge hours from eight in the morning to midnight seven days a week, and an urgent line at any hour for genuine emergencies. Beckon Black members have their relationship manager available at every hour for anything.

How is discretion maintained?

Every request is held by a single named concierge. Details are not circulated internally, staff are bound by confidentiality undertakings, and Beckon signs a non disclosure agreement with any member who asks.

Is there a limit on the number of requests?

No. Membership is limited instead. We keep the house small so that no concierge is ever carrying more than they can hold properly.

Can requests be made outside India?

Yes. Our members live and travel across London, Dubai, Singapore, Zurich, New York and the Mediterranean, and we hold relationships in each.

How does one join?

Through introduction by an existing member, or through an application read personally by our secretary. Every applicant meets us before an invitation is extended.

A private conversation

Tell us only what matters.

A line, a call or a message is enough. Your concierge will ask what is necessary and take the rest from there.
